It’s been a quiet week, but there’s two events this week, and a couple of things further down the road we wanted to let you know about.
DVI Parties – US World Cup Qualifiers
The US Men’s National Team has two very important matches this week…games 2 and 3 of qualification out of 10 overall. Saturday the Nats are in El Salvador and then Wednesday Trinidad and Tobago visit Nashville. SoB Marketing Director Brad wrote a fantastic preview of the matches, including a great rundown of the call ups on SoB.com:

Saturday the party begins at the Dark Horse at 2nd and Lombard in Philly at 8:15 for the 9:00 match, and on Wednesday we’ll be at the Dark Horse from 7:00 for the 7:30 match. We’re taking the tables out of the room to make space for more people, so if you want to eat plan on getting there early. Both games will be on ESPN2 for those that can’t make the festivities.
We’ll also be selling the remaining Delaware Valley Infantry shirts for $20 a piece at the parties, while supplies last.
Wheeled Scotsman Foundation Events
Our friends at the Wheeled Scotsman Foundation, a local organization devoted to helping families in need make their homes accessible in the event a family member is in a wheelchair and insurance doesn’t cover it, are running a couple of events coming up. The first is a 5K run on April 19th for people that run with their dogs, a baby jogger, or headphones in. The second is the Scotsmans Cup, a day-long soccer event that’ll take place at William Tennent High School on May 16th. The Sons of Ben squad will try and defend the cup starting at 5. There’s also side games and soccer clinics going on all day. For more information, or to volunteer to help with the events, visit their website.
A couple of quick final notes…there’s a friendly between Chelsea and A.C. Milan on July 24th in Baltimore. We aren’t making an event out of it, but thought we’d put it out there for those that are interested. But don’t forget about the Gold Cup quarterfinals (almost certainly involving the US) being played at the Linc on July 18th. We’re definitely going BIG for this. We’ll be doing a group ticket purchase, so hold out on buying tickets if they go on sale before we announce it.
As always, reply with any questions.
