The Eric Shertz Memorial Tailgate
Saturday May 10th 12pm-3pm
ALL are invited to attend this event in hopes of living up to the words Eric left behind, "I know anytime I'm here, I'm with my family."
This tailgate is our opportunity as a family to come together and put everything else aside to honor the memory of our fallen beloved brother in The River End. It is our hope this event not only brings us all together but helps to bring Eric's words to life. We encourage everyone on this day to reach out to someone you have never met and say hello. Eric was always one of first people to walk up and shake the hand of a stranger and make them feel welcome. Bring a non-member and show them what we are all about.
Additionally, we have invited supporters from DC United to join us at the tailgate. Our expectation is that you will treat them as you would anyone else you would normally encounter at a Sons of Ben tailgate. We invited them as a sign of unity between Supporter Groups during troubled times and they have accepted.
In order to host this event we have made this tailgate BYOB so that the confines of the fence do not exist. All are welcome to enter, so please bring chairs and a cooler and we will provide burgers, hot dogs and snacks at no cost. We will be collecting donations with all money collected going to Eric's family.
In order to provide for everyone who attends, please register for your tickets online with ticketleap (www.sonsofben.ticketleap.com) to confirm your attendance (You can also donate when you sign-up for the tailgate). We will not be able to accept walk ups on this day so please be prepared to confirm your attendance no later than noon on Friday May 9th (There is be NO EXCEPTIONS to this time and date). Food will be served on a first come/ first served basis and we will cut off at 2:30pm so that we ALL can participate in the march into the stadium.

Join us for the march-in!
This will be a very special march-in after the Eric Shertz Memorial tailgate. You will likely see individuals marching in that you haven't seen do so in many years. Please, come MARCH with us. We will meet in between lots B & C at 3:15 PM and will start the march at 3:20 or very shortly thereafter.
