Philly Unified Soccer Championship, May 30th from 9:30AM to 1PM

The Special Olympics Unified Soccer (Philly) Championship will be held on May 30th, this Friday, from 9:30AM to 1:00PM at Thomas Edison High School and we are looking for volunteers and fans to cheer on the athletes. To kick off the Sons of Ben new relationship with Philly Unified Soccer, we will be helping the event by providing the water ice as well as a financial donation and inviting all of our members, friends and family to come out to help and cheer on the athletes.  If you have the ability to come out on Friday, please do, as it means a lot for the children involved to have people cheering for them.

Unified Soccer is dedicated to promoting social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences, Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding.

In Unified Sports, teams are made up of people of similar age and ability, which makes practices more fun and games more challenging and exciting for all. Having sport in common is just one more way that preconceptions and false ideas are swept away.
