Hello, I’m Jeremy Shirvan, and I’m excited to be running for Merch Director of Sons of Ben! My journey as a Union fan is deeply tied to what makes this club and its supporters special. I was drawn to the homegrown nature of the Union, a team brought into existence by the passion and determination of the Sons of Ben. The way the supporters’ group fought to create this team is a story I want to celebrate and showcase in our merchandise.
Merchandise is more than just gear—it’s the face of who we are. It’s the message we send to the world, and it has the power to attract or repel, offend or endear. Every piece of merch advertises who we are and recruits new fans to our cause. I want our merchandise to proudly declare, “This is who we are, where we are from, and what we are about.”
I’ve lived in South Jersey since 2008, and through the Union and Sons of Ben, I’ve truly found a community that feels like home. I love that the Union remembers Philadelphia’s heritage as a city and as a nation, and the connection the team has with its supporters—like holding town halls with ownership—is something that speaks to the heart of why we all stand together. I want to make sure our merch reflects this sense of pride and belonging.
With my background in Pantone color matching, design selection, and screen printing from my time at TeamWorld in Binghamton, NY, I have the skills and experience needed to bring fresh, creative designs to life. I’ve worked with advanced printing technologies on everything from T-shirts to custom-printed plastic bottles, and I understand how to balance quality with creativity.
As a current member of the Sons of Ben merch committee, I’ve had the chance to connect with many of you, and I’ve heard your ideas and feedback. I’m running because I believe we can expand and elevate our merchandise to truly represent the passion and pride that makes the Union and Sons of Ben so special.
If elected, I’m committed to:
• Bringing fresh, meaningful designs that capture the unique spirit of our supporters’ group.
• Creating a better merch experience, whether online or at match-day tailgates.
• Collaborating with the community to ensure our gear is something we can all wear proudly.
I’m passionate about this role and would be honored to serve as your Merch Director, working together to create merchandise that not only looks great but truly reflects who we are as Union fans and Sons of Ben members.
